If you are trying to self-fund:
-You will not have investors financing you during your sourcing period
-You will likely have to incur due diligence costs*
-You should keep 51%+ of the equity if you have a good structure for your acquisition. If it's less than $1.5m of EBITDA you might keep 65% to 80%. At less than $1m of EBITDA, 75% to 90%+. Do not sell yourself short.
*Sometimes, investors will pay you back for that cost for additional equity
